OUR NAME EXPLAINS OUR VISION
EKKLESIA
The Greek word (ἐκκλησία) translates to "church" in the Bible. It means an assembly; a gathering. Called out from the world; Set apart for God.
ECHO
A repeating sound. A repetition or an imitation.
We believe the way JESUS lived was extremely significant. His life made a sound that changed everything. Our responsibility and commitment As Jesus Followers is to imitate Him to the best of our ability. To repeat that sound in our generation to our sphere of influence.
The EKKO FOUNDATION includes strategic and effective initiatives that align with our vision and cause.
MEET THE FOUNDER
EKKO was founded by Benjamin Houston in 2025. Ben and Lucille have been married for 20 years and have four incredible children—Savannah (16), Lexi (14), Bailey (12), and Blaze (8).
Ben was one of three children born in Sydney Australia to proud parents—Brian and Bobbie Houston. Brian and Bobbie planted Hillsong Church when Ben was only one, and as a family they committed everything to building one of the largest and most influential churches in history. With campuses and locations spread all over the world, music that topped all charts, conferences and tours that sold out arenas and stadiums. Hillsong Church has always been about loving Jesus, loving people, helping and inspiring many.
In 2014, Ben and Lucille with their children moved to the USA and planted church locations in Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Orange County. Ben has travelled the world preaching and speaking in Churches, school classrooms, prisons, conferences, and stadiums. His unique communication style connects with the individual whether he is speaking to 20 or 20,000. His message always points to Jesus and the goodness of God, while aiming to provide practical implementations to help whoever will listen.
Ben has always gravitated toward reaching and helping people with huge heart and passion for evangelism, outreach, missions, and pastorally caring for people. EKKO truly is an extension of Ben’s personal heart, mission, and devotion.
